Health care scholarship established in honor of Norma Herr
October 19, 2017Norma Lois Herr grew up in Millersville and attended Penn Manor High School, graduating in 1953. Norma went on to graduate from Lancaster General Hospital’s Nursing School in 1956 and worked 10-plus years as a registered nurse in Pennsylvania, California and Maryland.
Norma was a devoted wife of 27 years to her husband, Paul, and mother to their son, Robert, before her passing in 1983. Norma had a passion for helping others, especially senior citizens.
Norma’s husband, Paul, a retired program manager of 29 years with NASA, has generously established a $1,000 scholarship in Norma’s memory to be awarded annually to a deserving Penn Manor High School senior pursuing higher education in the health care field.
A heartfelt thanks to Paul for honoring his wife by generously assisting a Penn Manor senior to pursue a degree in health care.
