Matthew Blank

Matthew Blank: Matt and his wife, Leah, both are graduates of Penn Manor. They live in Millersville with their son, Mason, dog Freddie Mercury and cat Junebug. Leah has a career in elementary education, and Matt works for his father, Mike, at MBC Building & Remodeling, LLC. He is a 2004 Penn State graduate, and his passion is music. In his free time he plays drums in several original bands, including The Vivien Leigh Documentary.

Anne Kinderwater Carroll

Executive Director

Anne Kinderwater Carroll: Anne is well-known to Penn Manor families as a former middle school science teacher and Penn Manor Teacher of the Year. She also was principal at both Marticville Middle and Eshleman Elementary schools. In 2010, after 17 years as a Penn Manor staff member, she left education to devote more attention to her family, including her husband, Andrew, and the couple’s two daughters, Helena and Evelyn. An adjunct professor at Millersville University, Anne has served as a supervisor of both student teachers and candidates for principal certification.

Joseph Herman

Joseph Herman: Joe and Janice Herman have raised a daughter, Kathy, and a son, Brian, who are both Penn Manor graduates. Joe was a social studies teacher at Penn Manor High School for 39 1/2 years until retiring in 2015. He has been named both a Penn Manor Teacher of the Year and a WGAL Teacher Impact recipient.  Besides teaching and coaching, Joe enjoys fishing, hunting, and going with Janice to their mountain retreat. Both Joe and Janice enjoy being grandparents to their six grandchildren.

Paula Howard

Paula Howard: Paula was a school secretary for 30 years and in 2013 retired from her post as secretary to the superintendent and school board in Penn Manor. She and her husband, Donald, live in the Millersville area and are actively engaged in supporting their five grandchildren. She was raised in Rochester, New York, and attended Alfred State College. In addition to her support of the Penn Manor Education Foundation, Paula has volunteered for 13 years at Hospice and Community Care of Lancaster in various positions, including working in the Coping Kids program and supporting summer camp programs for children who have lost a loved one.

Robin Jeffers

Robin Jeffers: Robin Jeffers, a 2000 graduate of Penn Manor High School, lives in Washington Boro with her husband, Joshua, and their two young children, Lily and Conner. The family enjoys traveling, camping and spending time together. Robin works as a substitute teacher in Penn Manor and is the daughter of former PMHS English teacher Carole Shellenberger. Robin says she believes in the educational opportunities Penn Manor provides for its students and is excited about serving on the Ed Foundation board.

Jeffrey Kirk

Jeff Kirk: A 1984 PM graduate, Jeff met his wife, Kathy, when they were both Penn Manor third-graders. Kathy is a fourth-generation Penn Manor alumna and a Penn Manor reading teacher at Manor Middle School. Jeff has 26 years of experience as a financial advisor. Jeff and Kathy have three children, who are all Penn Manor students. Their oldest graduated in 2012, and the next in 2015, and the youngest will graduate in 2018. Jeff joined the Penn Manor Education Foundation board in 2013 to begin his first term.

Patrick Kline

President

Patrick Kline: Pat is definitely a Penn Manor guy. He is a Penn Manor alumnus (Class of 1982), is married to Laura (PM Class of 1984), and has two children, Erik (PM Class of 2010) and Cassie (PM Class of 2015). Pat has served as a member of the Penn Manor School Board as well as coached youth softball, baseball and basketball. He operates his own business in Quarryville, a State Farm Insurance Agency. Pat currently serves as board president and chairman of the development committee.

Dr. Michael G. Leichliter

Superintendent, Ex Officio Member

Michael Leichliter: Mike is the Superintendent of Penn Manor Schools and serves as an ex officio member of the Foundation board. Mike holds a doctorate degree in educational leadership from Widener University. He lives in Millersville Borough with his wife, Mary Edith, and three children, all of whom attended Penn Manor schools. Noah attends the University of Alabama, Maura is at New York University and Sydney attends Penn Manor High School.

Jan Mindish

Jan Mindish: Jan Mindish rejoined the board in 2017 after serving from 2010 to 2016. She began her Penn Manor career in 1972 as an elementary art teacher and spent 37 years with the district as an art and photography teacher, assistant principal and high school principal, retiring in 2009 after 12 years. She was named Pennsylvania High School Principal of the Year in 2007. Jan is involved in several community organizations, including the Millersville Woman’s Club and the Demuth Foundation. She also teaches art classes in Penn Manor’s Twilight Program and recently organized four weeks of summer art camp at the Lancaster Museum of Art.

Donald Mowery

Treasurer

Don Mowery: Don and his wife Gail are the parents of four Penn Manor High School students and one Penn Manor alumni who recently graduated from West Chester University. Don graduated from Penn Manor in 1996 and works now as a CPA and partner at Trout, Ebersole and Groff LLP. Gail also is a CPA. Don enjoys golf and cheering on his children’s soccer teams. He serves as PMEF board treasurer.

Nicki Nafziger

Nicki Nafziger: As a graduate and community member, Nicki willingly invests back into the Penn Manor community that has loved her family so well. A class of 2000 alumnus, Nicki, and her husband Jeremy, are raising two future PM alumni, children Isiac and Mackenzi in Millersville. Nicki is the president of Agape Care, Inc. and Jeremy owns B.N. Excavating. On PMEF, she is the co-chair of Strong & Healthy Families and the PMAA liaison.In addition, Nicki is a proud member of Sertoma, Club of Lancaster, The Lancaster Chamber, and Millersville Business Association.

Tracy Seiger

Vice President

Tracy Seiger: Tracy has a long history of volunteer service to the Penn Manor School District, including her service as chairwoman of the 2014 Post-Prom Committee. She is a 1986 Penn Manor graduate and has lived in the Penn Manor community her whole life. She is married to Tom, a former Foundation board member and past president. Both of her parents and her two children, Lauren and Bradley, graduated from Penn Manor. Tracy is employed as a Realtor and seniors real estate specialist with Life Changes Realty Group.

Michelle Shaub

Michelle Shaub:  Michelle is a passionate advocate for the Penn Manor School District.  As the mother of one PM alumnus and two current students, she has enjoyed being part of the elementary, middle, and high school environments.  Michelle has been actively involved in PMEF’s Venture Grant program and appreciates the opportunity to see, first hand, the innovative ideas of our PM faculty.

Carole Shellenberger

Secretary

Carole Shellenberger:  Carole retired from Penn Manor in 2004 after a teaching career of 35 years in English. Another tie to Penn Manor is her role as mother of a 2000 graduate, her daughter, Robin, who has two children and future Penn Manor students. Carole’s husband, Don, also is a PM alumnus, Class of 1972. Carole has always been a strong supporter of Penn Manor’s theater program and the International Thespian Society. She is serving her eighth year as a member of our board of directors and serves as secretary.

Dianne Smith

Dianne Smith: Dianne Smith worked 34 years as Central Manor school secretary until retiring in 2016. She and her husband, Barry, are Penn Manor High School grads. They had three children, Kelly, Casey and Kevin, all of whom graduated from Penn Manor. Their seven grandchildren also graduated from, attend or will attend Penn Manor schools. The memory of their son, Kevin, who died tragically in a car accident, lives on in the Kevin B. Smith Memorial Award, granted each year to a deserving Penn Manor graduate.

Brian Wallace

Community Relations Coordinator, Ex Officio Member

Brian Wallace: Brian is community relations coordinator for Penn Manor School District. A former longtime newspaper reporter and part-time ESL teacher, he does publicity for the school district as well as the Education Foundation. Brian is the husband of Susan Wallace, who works in customer service for a Lancaster software company. They are the parents of five adult children, Jessica, Anne, Colleen, Jimmie and Owen. The Wallaces live in Lancaster city.

Eric Warfel

Eric Warfel:  Eric graduated from Penn Manor in 1990 and then completed his education at Millersville University. He and his wife Jerissa are busy raising five children. Their son, Robert and daughter, Madison are Penn Manor graduates. Madison is currently a student-athlete at Hofstra.  Kyle and Nadia are all still Comets and Hudson will be the class of 2033! Eric brings to our board expertise from the banking world and his wife is the Foundation’s bookkeeper. Eric continues to serve on the Advisory Board of SCORE Lancaster/Lebanon.

kevin weber

Kevin Weber

Kevin joined the board in 2017. He lives in Millersville with his wife, Emma, and their twin daughters, Ellie and Madeleine, who attend Penn Manor schools and play field hockey and lacrosse. Kevin is the middle child of five born and raised in Denville, N.J., “a great little town in North Jersey.” He attended King’s College in Wilkes-Barre (Class of 1991) and transferred to Lancaster for a job in logistics for Armstrong in 1998. He now works for a company that sells motorcycle insurance. Kevin has volunteered with the borough parks committee and has helped organize several motorcycle-related charity projects.
