Abram W. Sangrey Memorial Scholarship
$1,000 for students pursuing career in the ministry or missions or a closely related field such as social work or counseling; academic success and contribution to community through his/her church Essay: (500 word minimum) Describe what you think you have to offer to the future as a minister, missionary, social worker or counselor.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Brereton Manor Scholarship
$500 for students pursuing a career in health care related field, preferably nursing;  priority given to student seeking Licensed Practical Nurse certification; special consideration for applicants who have volunteered at or worked for Brereton Manor; maintained 3.25 GPA Essay: Describe your experience volunteering or working in the health care field.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Betty Doan Memorial Scholarship
$500 for student who is interested in pursuing a career in healthcare and has had to overcome some significant challenges in their life.     Essay: Share how personal challenges you experienced influenced your desire to continue beyond high school. You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Christine A. Weidinger Memorial Scholarship
$500 for female planning to major in the field of Family and Consumer Science or a related field (food service, food preparation or textile related crafts) Essay: (500 word minimum) Describe the projects and/or activities that you have completed during your FCS classes which are of significant value to you.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Christopher Johnson Memorial Scholarship
Up to $4,000 ($1,000 per year of study) for creative thinker who approaches life with a smile and holds close a strong love for freedom; must have maintained 2.5 GPA Essay: (500 word minimum)  Explain what it means to defend freedom; applicants encouraged to get first hand accounts from veterans and to do related research.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Donald Pollock Scholarship
$1,000/yr for four years (total $4,000) for student pursuing a career in math-oriented field, preference given to business/accounting major or those seeking a teaching career in math; strong academic success and community contribution; financial need is considered Essay: Share any special circumstances that might limit your parents’ ability to help you further your education in a math related field. You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Dorothy Dart Milliman Scholarship
$1,000 for student planning to pursue a career in nursing or closely related health care field; demonstrates academic success, contribution to community and financial need Essay:  (500 word minimum) Describe any special circumstances that might limit your parents’ ability to help further your education in the health care field.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Dr. Jan Mindish Scholarship
$500 for students who demonstrate academic success, service to school and community, and ability to successfully manage time between co-curricular activities and academic work; financial need to be considered Essay: Share how you successfully balanced your time and efforts between co-curricular activities and your academic work.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Jere R. Hoin Memorial Scholarship
$1,000 for student pursuing a career in elementary education ; demonstrated strong academic achievement and involvement in extracurriular activities Essay: Detail your high school experiences and how they have shaped your desire to pursue a degree in elementary education. You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Jerry Darrenkamp Memorial Scholarship
$500 for student majoring in business or related field; preference will be given to students who have been employed at the Darrenkamp’s Family Market; demonstrates academic excellence and significant service to community Essay: Have you worked at Darrenkamp’s Family Market? Describe how you have grown personally through significant service to the community.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Jack and Joanne Herr Scholarship
$500 – preference will be given to students who have been employed at John Herr’s Village Market; demonstrates academic excellence and genuine commitment to the Millersville community; suitable for those attending a tech/trade school, 2 or 4 year college; financial need is considered Essay: Have you worked at John Herr’s Village Market? How has your involvement in the Millersville/Penn Manor community helped in defining your future goals?  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Joan Pollock Scholarship

$1,000/year (total $4,000) for a student who intends to major in Nursing or a related field.  Must be planning to attend a 4 year college, Associates degree or other Certification program.  The student should have a strong academic history and be able to demonstrate a commitment to community service.  Essay: As you pursue a career in nursing or other related field, what challenges do you anticipate and what makes you still want to pursue this goal?  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

John R. Milliman Scholarship
$1,000 award for students planning to pursue a career in engineering or math-related field; demonstrates academic success, contribution to community and financial need Essay: (500 word minimum) Describe how your math education has led you to choose a career in a math-related field.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Karen Shenk Scholarship
$500 award for a student pursuing a career in the Health/Human Services.  The student must be interested in pursuing a career in the field in a 4 year college or a 2 year Associates degree.  The individual possess a genuine commitment to community service and must be able to show a strong academic history.  Essay: Share how your commitment to community influenced your desire to pursue a career in health and human services.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume. 

Kevin B. Smith Memorial Award
$500 award for students who completed a CTC program or are pursuing a trade career; consideration for student with a demonstrated love for the outdoors (hunting and fishing) and an interest in sports Essay: (500 word minimum)  Describe your interest in sports and/or your love of the outdoors.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Lloyd & Ann Boyd Scholarship
$1,000 award for students who demonstrate academic success and service to school and community; financial need is a consideration Essay: (500 word minimum) Describe your career goals and how a technical school education will help prepare you for successes.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Dennis R. Herr Memorial Scholarship
$500 award for students who demonstrate academic success and strong work ethic. Financial need is a consideration. Student will be planning to attend a trade or tech school. A four year program is not a requirement.   Essay: (500 word minimum) Describe your career goals and how a trade/tech school education will help prepare you for successes. In addition submit a copy of your transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Luella Mellinger Scholarship
$500 award for students who demonstrate academic merit and intend to further their education with the goal of a teaching career. Essay:  (500 word minimum) Describe your senior project and what you have learned through completing it.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume. 

Mario-Angelo Russo Memorial Scholarship
$500 award for students who pursue a career in music or media production or a related field; financial need is considered Essay: Detail your reasons for selecting the field of music or media production; emphasis on your passion for this study and your intentions for using your studies to make a significant impact on others.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Millersville Business Association Scholarship
$1,000 award for students attending Millersville University with an interest in business or related field; demonstrates academic success, contribution to community and financial need Essay: (500 word minimum) Describe what led to your future plans in the a business related field.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Mrs. Abner Houseknecht Memorial Scholarship
$2,500 award for female students who demonstrate academic achievement and financial need. Essay: (500 word minimum) Describe your personal family circumstances that create a strong financial need for furthering your education.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Olga P. Harvie Memorial Scholarship
$1,000 award for students dedicated to the Penn Manor Theater Program who are interested in pursuing a career in theater performance, theater technology or a related field; financial need is considered Essay: Share your Penn Manor theater experiences and their importance in your high school career; stress how these experiences have influenced your career goals.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Patricia A. Texter Scholarship
$500 award for students pursuing a health care related field, preferably nursing; priority given to students seeking Registered Nurse certification; demonstrated academic success, commitment to community service and financial need Essay: Share why you have chosen a career path in the health care field.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Penn Manor Education Foundation Scholarship
$500 award for students who demonstrate academic success, community spirit and contributions, and participation in school activities Essay: Describe something that you have always wanted to do and the reason you have not done it.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and  resume.

Rachel E. Miller Memorial Scholarship
$2,000 award for students who demonstrate a high level of achievement in both academics and athletics Essay: (500 word minimum) Discuss your successes and future goals plus demonstrate work ethic, belief in team before self, perseverance through adversity, loyalty and spirit.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Shellenberger-Hosler Scholarship
$400 award for students who pursue a career in Library Science or closely related field such as Education or Communications Essay: Describe what interests you about library science or related field and the reasons you would pursue it as a career.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Sherilyn Schock Memorial Scholarship
$500 award for student who attended Letort Elementary and is interested in pursuing post-secondary education. Demonstration of academic success, genuine commitment to school and community, financial need considered. Essay: (500 word minimum) Describe the impact Mrs. Schock or a Letort staff member had on your future plans. You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Stella Caldwell Memorial Scholarship
$500 award for students who demonstrate commitment to community service Essay: (500 word minimum) Share why you think community service is important in a student’s personal growth.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Steve Graby Scholarship
$750 award for students interested in pursuing a career in psychology or area of mental health services.  Demonstration of academic success, genuine commitment to Aevidum and/or school and community outreach, financial need considered. Essay: Share your passion for the psychology/mental health field and any contributing factors influencing your decision to pursue this field after high school . You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and educational resume.

Student Services Award
$1,000 voucher ($500/semester for 2 semesters) for students who attend Millersville University; demonstration of academic success, service to school and community, financial need Essay: (500 word minimum) Describe how you have grown as a person through your meaningful service to school and community.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

The Donald and Susan Martin Family “Pay It Forward” Scholarship
Up to $1,200/year of college or technical school; “pay it forward” requires the recipient to agree to make a tax deductible donation of $25/year for ten years; maintain 3.0 GPA and participation in school/community activities Essay: Describe how you feel your collective high school and community experiences have prepared you for life after high school and beyond.  You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Wade Groff Memorial Scholarship
$500 award for students who pursue a career at a trade or tech institution.  Demonstration community service. Essay: Explain why you believe a trade or tech school will allow for career growth in a field you enjoy. You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.

Warfel Family Scholarship
$1,000 award for students interested in pursuing a career in special education.  Demonstration of academic success, genuine commitment to school and community, financial need considered. Essay: (500 word minimum) Share what or whom influenced you to pursue a career in special education. You will need to submit your PMHS transcript (which can be obtained from Sapphire Student Pack Back), letter of recommendation and resume.
