Bidders set a new fund-raising record Sunday during Penn Manor Education Foundation’s “Kids Only Auction” at Manor Middle School.
More than 100 parents and children attended in the event, but only children were permitted to bid on dozens of donated toys, games, movies, books, inflatable animals, athletic gear and other goodies.
The event raised more than $3,700 – the highest amount for an auction held in the northern part of the school district. Each year, the auction locale alternates from north to south, with proceeds benefitting library programs and materials at nearby elementary schools.
This year’s beneficiaries are Hambright, Central Manor, Eshleman and Letort elementary schools.
Auctioneer Jessica Shaub Meyer donated her services for the event.
