Donors contribute more than $26,000 during 2021 ExtraGive

PMEF is so grateful to our generous supporters. With your donations, we exceeded our $25,000 goal during the Nov. 19 ExtraGive, with 159 online donations totaling $26,123!

Our Penn Manor alumni really stepped up during our Battle of the Decades Challenge. All decades were well represented, with 55 alumni who identified with a decade contributing a total of $11,000.

Our top fundraising decades were the 1980s, with $5,571 in donations, and the 1990s, with $2,520. Decades with the most donors were the 2010s, with 14 donors; the 1980s, with 12 donors; and the 2000s, with 10 donors.

“Special thanks to our alumni, representing the 1960’s through 2019, who created videos and encouraged their classmates to donate,” said PMEF executive director Jan Mindish.  “Their efforts resulted in many first-time alumni donors. PMEF values opportunities like this to join with the Penn Manor Alumni Association to benefit both organizations.”

PMEF will use the donations to fund the 2022 Penn Manor Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship, which is awarded to a student whose parent(s) graduated from Penn Manor.

In addition, nearly $700 was donated to the Megan Martin Memorial Scholarship.

ExtraGive funds also will support the efforts of the committed and caring Penn Manor staff members who are leveling the playing field and raising standards for all Penn Manor students.

Funding will be used for grants for teachers to support innovative learning, scholarships to graduating seniors to continue their education, and Strong & Healthy Family grants to assist our neediest families.

Many thanks to the Penn Manor community for the support!
